8. Refer to question #3.
What can you do to convince yourself that you need to do the homework NOW instead of putting it off? Try
this little “mind talk” exercise:
Say out loud what you want to be doing for the next 50 minutes (example; “I want to catch up with my emails and twitter stuff.
Tell yourself what will happen if you don’t do the assignment:

Ask yourself about the long term importance of your education vs. keeping up on social media.
Negotiate with yourself on a reward for when you finish the assignment.

For example:
“I’ll finish these two chapters in 50 minutes then I’ll get a snack and do internet for 30 minutes then go back and finish the homework. I’ll have everything done by 11:00 PM so I can get a good night’s sleep for school tomorrow. I’ll do a lot of things I want to do this weekend if I do well on the quiz Friday.” Have everyone prepare a conversation with themselves about something they don’t want to do. Pick the best one from your group to be performed when staff comes around to your table. Stickers will be given according to rational thinking, creativity and probability of success.
